At Creative Coding Utrecht we organise a range of monthly events that cater to different interests, age groups and skill level. We aim to help you develop your connection with all things coding, no matter how foreign the subject might seem to you.
Have no idea what Creative Coding means? Have a background in programming but you wouldn’t know where to start making your own, creative stuff? Or do you simply want to enhance your pre-existing skills and create even more flashy visuals, animations and more?

Makers Meet and Eat 2026
TicketsAre you an art enthusiast, culture vulture, maker, creative mind, or simply interested in the recent developments in the field of (digital) art, culture, and design? Join us on Sunday 27th September for the Makers Meet & Eat, and get inspired by the stories of various makers.
This year, it will take place in the Hof van Cartesius, a bustling playground where all species meet and create together. During the event, creatives from a variety of disciplines will talk about their work, methods, and research in the field of (digital) art, culture and design. An afternoon for connecting, sharing knowledge, and tricks of the trade.

We end the day with a drink and a vegan bite by our neighbours at Warmoes.

Sounak Das is a multimedia artist from Bangladesh currently based in Rotterdam. His artistic practice operates at the intersection of image, sound, video, sculpture, installation and technology, with a strong focus on storytelling, bodily experience and audience participation.
During his residency at Creative Coding Utrecht, he developed a prototype that activates with breathing and chanting, and embodies the connections and frictions present in the Hof van Cartesius.
Lucas Dekker is an Immersive Media Artist working with VR, AR, film, and photography. Fascinated by futurism and utopia, he explores the sometimes hidden and underlying power dynamics within our environment.
He will present his project Digital Nature, which explores the often unconscious effect that nature has in our daily lives, and what happens when nature is mediated digitally. It examines our near automatic acceptance of digital representations of nature as either replacements for or additions to the natural world. The idea stems from a dystopian thought: what if there was no nature left? What would we want to preserve through digitisation? Through this artistic research, using 3D scanning and other recording techniques, Lucas iteratively creates a VR experience in collaboration with his audience.
